Antique Victorian Ceramic 'Plate Drainer'

A fascinating antique Victorian ceramic kitchen piece, originally thought to be a plate drainer, although it doesn't hold a plate particularly well! Another dealer suggested it may actually have been used for drying knives, which would certainly make sense given its unusual design. We love these intriguing old objects that leave us wondering about their original purpose. A wonderfully unusual piece of Victorian kitchenalia, full of character and a lovely talking point for an antique kitchen display.
